Guru Gayatri Mantra…A 40-Day Meditation
Meditate to remove all obstacles and to access courage and prosperity


11 Min Guru Singh  Har Har Gobinday

This meditation is powerful and recommended anytime you feel stuck, need to be more grounded, and want to attract prosperity. Yogi Bhajan gave us this meditation to help us be successful during these challenging times and deal with the intensity of the energy during the shift to the Aquarian Age. This meditation is for courage and fearlessness, and builds a strong aura and radiant body. It gives you the strength to deal with all the challenges that life brings.

The Guru Gayatri mantra begins with 4 Har’s. It fixes the mind to prosperity and gives power to break down the barriers of the past. It converts fear to determination and invokes guidance. All powers come to serve your true purpose.


This meditation has 40 sounds, which together balance the 5 tattvas (air, water, fire, earth, and ether), 7 chakras, and arc line. This mantra can penetrate anything and help avoid misfortune. It has the power to break through any resistance or obstacles. It is very sacred, but not secret. Before chanting, pick one life challenge that seems difficult to deal with and place it in your heart while you chant this mantra. Let the energy infuse the situation. While chanting focus on the mantra and its energetic effects. Pumping the navel with each HAR will keep you present in your body. You can get totally absorbed into the sounds and feel very refreshed afterwards. You may be surprised at the change you feel about your current situation.


Sit in easy pose with the hands in Gyan Mudra (thumb and forefinger touching) on the knees, elbows straight. Chant this mantra 11 minutes in the morning before starting your day to program your psyche for success and courage, to uplift your spirits, to create an aura of invincibility, and a super strong radiant body. You may even begin to glow in the dark!

Repeat before each of the eight aspects of the Divine: HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR

Pump your navel center with each HAR. Be sure to touch the tip of the tongue to the upper palate when you are making the ‘R’ of HAR. The ‘R’ if enunciated correctly will stimulate the pineal and pituitary glands to awaken the frontal lobe and deliver you to your neutral mind.

Chant in a monotone, enunciating clearly each syllable. Do not mumble, move your mouth to make the sounds. HAR is a manifesting mantra. The other eight mantras are aspects of the Divine. Chanting HAR before each aspect pulls that energy into our physical and subtle bodies.

HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR GOBINDE – “Go bin day” –  God the One who sustains us
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR MUKUNDE – “Mu kun day” – God the One who liberates us
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR UDARE – “Uu dar ay” – God the One who uplifts us
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR APARE – “A par ay” – God the One who is Infinite
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR HARIANG – “Har ee ung” – God the One who clears our Path
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR KARIANG – “Kar ee ung” – God the One by who’s grace everything is done
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR NIRNAME – “Nir na may” – God the One who is nameless and desireless
HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR AKAME – “A ka may” – God the One who encompasses all

When you have finished, sit quietly and feel the effects of the meditation in your physical body, aura, and radiant body. Consolidate, contain, and radiate love. Be available for intuitive messages about your current life challenge. They may come directly after the meditation or later in the day. Be available to listen to your Soul.

Additional Guidelines for Practice: Practice the meditation for 5 to 11 minutes before going to bed. Then sleep with the mantra playing through the night. The following morning, before you get out of bed, chant this mantra. Sleep with this mantra and wake up with this mantra.
